CityPost Classifieds turns a WordPress site into a local classifieds board. It comes as a theme with the bundled CityPost Core plugin. The plugin stores the ads, members and payments, so your data stays put if you ever change theme. For visitors
- Browse ads by city, category and sub-category, with keyword search, price filter and sort order.
- Save favourites (kept for guests and moved to their account when they log in) and compare up to 4 ads side by side.
- Contact sellers through the enquiry form on each ad, and leave or read star-rated reviews on ads.
- Optional Google Maps on ad pages and a listings map (needs your own Google Maps API key).
- Sign up, log in and reset a forgotten password on your own site’s pages, styled like the rest of the theme.
- Post, edit, save as draft and delete ads from the front end with photos, price, condition and location.
- A personal dashboard with My Listings, My Favorites, My Enquiries, My Account and My Membership.
- Membership plans with a price, a duration, an ad limit and included boosts. Defaults: Free (3 ads), Basic and Business; change them or add your own.
- Three listing boosts: Featured (shown first and on the homepage), Highlighted (badge) and Urgent (badge). Set the price and length of each, or turn boosts off completely.
- Stripe Checkout for plans and boosts, confirmed by webhook, with a payments log in the admin.
- Members admin: assign or cancel plans, give bonus credits and extra ads, suspend and unsuspend members.
- Ad limits and boosts are checked on the server, so they can’t be bypassed from the browser.
- Optional sample content: 40 ads across several cities with 12 original sample photos, removable in one click.
- Privacy tools: personal data export and erase for messages, payments, favourites and membership history.
- Responsive layout, translation-ready (.pot files for theme and plugin), and a step-by-step documentation file with update and troubleshooting guides.

CityPost Classifieds 1.0.5 (theme)
- Homepage without CityPost Core: front-page.php no longer stops at the install notice. A frontpage_template filter (inc/core-bridge.php, citypost_frontpage_fallback) skips the classifieds homepage when Core is off, so WordPress shows the normal front page: latest posts with pagination (index.php) or the static front page from Settings > Reading (page.php). front-page.php also falls back to index.php if loaded directly.
- The install reminder is now a small non-blocking bar shown only to administrators (install_plugins) on the front page; visitors never see it.
- documentation.html: version, install and upgrade steps updated for 1.0.5 / Core 1.0.3; "What changed in 1.0.5" added.
- Bundles CityPost Core 1.0.3 (citypost/plugins/citypost-core.zip, byte-identical to citypost-core-1.0.3.zip).

- Version bumped; no code or database changes (DB version stays 1.0.2, so no upgrade routine runs).

- index.php rewritten as a full fallback template: single posts and pages, archives, search, empty results, 404, pagination, password-protected content and comments, with CityPost Core on or off. New comments.php.
- Header favourites and compare counts use the shared cookie reader (current and older formats).
- documentation.html expanded: upgrading, member rules (boosts, ad limits, suspension) and troubleshooting for account pages, permalinks, email, password reset, payment confirmation and maps.
- Bundles CityPost Core 1.0.2.
CityPost Core 1.0.2 (plugin)
- Boosts: one central policy (new class CityPost_Policy). A boost is applied only from a plan allowance (when plans are on), a bonus credit, or a Stripe payment confirmed by the webhook or the checkout return. Free boosts run under a lock and are logged.
- Enable Listing Boosts switch enforced in the add/edit form, My Listings and on the server. Running boosts stay until they expire; checkouts already paid are still delivered. Only administrators can toggle boosts from All Listings.
- Password reset: reset links open a working "choose a new password" form using WordPress reset keys (check_password_reset_key / reset_password). Expired, invalid and used links are refused.
- Suspension enforced on the server for every request: no adding, editing, publishing, boosting or plan changes. Suspending ends all of the member's sessions.
- Plan listing limits checked whenever a listing enters publish or pending (including publishing a draft), with a per-member lock. Drafts don't count. Server-side guard on wp_insert_post_data.
- Favourites and compare: one handler per action, one cookie format (comma-separated IDs), old JSON cookies read and rewritten, guest favourites move to the account on log in.
- Sample image files renamed to plain names; images unchanged.
