WPBay allows sellers to offer their digital products through both one-time purchases and recurring subscription models (monthly or yearly). Subscriptions provide customers with continued access to product updates, support services, and, in some cases, premium features.

A subscription on WPBay is a recurring payment agreement between the customer and the seller. Depending on the product, subscriptions may be billed monthly or annually. Each product clearly indicates its payment structure during checkout, including whether it is a subscription or a one-time payment.

Once a subscription is active, the customer receives ongoing access to the product’s latest version and any updates released during the subscription period. If the subscription includes support, the customer may also contact the seller for assistance for the duration of the subscription.

WPBay handles subscription billing through a secure payment processor (PayPal or Stripe). After the initial payment, subsequent charges are processed automatically based on the selected billing interval. Customers receive an invoice and email confirmation for each renewal. Subscriptions can be managed through the “My Account” section, where users may view, cancel, or change their plan at any time.

If a customer cancels their subscription, they retain access to the product version they already downloaded. However, they will no longer receive updates or support unless they reactivate the subscription. Reactivation can be done at any time through the account dashboard.

Some products may offer the ability to upgrade or downgrade between subscription plans. When supported, upgrades are applied immediately with a prorated charge, while downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

Sellers can configure subscription options and plan tiers when submitting or editing their products in the WPBay dashboard. The WPBay SDK can be used to enforce license validation and subscription checks within the product itself.
