YOP-FAQ is a FAQ manager for WordPress. It includes questions, categories, hubs, an accordion, Gutenberg blocks (ufaqm/accordion, ufaqm/faq, ufaqm/hub, ufaqm/search, ufaqm/latest, ufaqm/popular, ufaqm/related, ufaqm/categories, ufaqm/toc), the Elementor widget ufaqm-faq, shortcodes, a public overview, search, and an optional schema.
Installation: upload the ZIP under Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and activate YOP-FAQ. WordPress 6.6+ and PHP 8.2+ are required. Activation creates the FAQ content types and tables and does not delete existing posts. A setup wizard can set the base path and consent before you open the settings. The public overview is at /faq/ until you change the base URL under YOP-FAQ → Settings.
FAQs, blocks, shortcodes and local search work without any external account. Typesense and Algolia are optional. You bring your own account and an API key that can add, delete and search documents. A search-only key cannot fill the index. The guide names the fields and the collection or index name ufaqm_faq.
The license check runs in the background about every 12 hours. It sends the site host, the product name FAQ and the server IP to https://api.yoptimize.tech/api/yoptimize/licence/check/ so the license status can be read. There is no license key. The FAQ keeps working if that check fails. An optional instance report is off until you enable it. It then sends the host, the plugin version and the type Free or Paid once per hour to https://api.yoptimize.tech/api/yoptimize/ping/check/. Optional support, when a matching contract exists, contacts the YOptimize support service. It is not required for publishing or displaying FAQs.
Views, helpfulness votes and the search log are off until you enable them. With the search log on, a readable query is stored, cut to 120 characters, with email addresses and long numbers removed, for 7 days. A summary of at most 4 words is kept for 13 months. Website consent states unknown and denied block those modules. The extra FAQ consent setting consent_required can require an explicit granted state.
Changelog:

0.31.14 – 2026-11-06
- Breadcrumb settings for background, width, height and type apply on the public page.
0.31.13 – 2026-11-06

- You set the breadcrumb in its own tab: visibility, width, height, separator, background and type.
0.31.12 – 2026-11-06
- You can set the space from the top of the page so the FAQ does not cover the menu bar.
0.31.11 – 2026-11-05
- Within one FAQ, source checks take never-checked links first, then the oldest checked ones, so completed links are not checked again before untouched links.
- Every link is checked and later rechecked. One run still checks at most ten links.
0.31.10 – 2026-11-05
- Source checks take never-checked FAQs first, then the oldest due ones, so early FAQs are not checked again before untouched FAQs.
- Every source is checked and later rechecked, including early FAQs with several sources. The link budget stays bounded.
0.31.9 – 2026-11-04
- Search and latest lists keep separate results for each language and search provider, including WPML and Polylang.
- Typesense and Algolia expose the next page after withdrawn records are removed, until the public matches end.
- Source checks reach every FAQ that has a source, including FAQs after the first batch, and check them again later without an edit.
- Local search applies visibility and context before pagination, so early, late and empty pages stay bounded.
0.31.8 – 2026-11-03
- A single embedded FAQ shows its answer only when it is publicly visible. The editor preview stays separate.
- A chosen set of FAQs stays limited to those FAQs for menu, latest and title order.
