Flexible by design

A subscription model that fits the way you sell

Start with a straightforward annual license, offer a lower monthly entry point, or keep a lifetime option beside both. You decide how customers buy your work.

Monthly, yearly, or one-time

Use recurring billing for ongoing updates and support, keep a one-time option, or offer both on the same marketplace.

Trials with clear expectations

Offer a free trial when it makes sense. Buyers see what they pay today, when billing begins, and the recurring amount before they commit.

Automatic renewals

Once a subscription is active, renewals follow the selected billing interval. Customers receive confirmation and an invoice for each renewal.

Customer self-service

Customers can view their subscription, change an available plan, cancel, or reactivate from their WPBay account without opening a support ticket.

Sensible plan changes

When a product supports plan switching, upgrades can apply immediately with a prorated charge while downgrades wait until the current term ends.

Plans and site-license tiers

Create Basic, Pro, or Agency plans and pair them with the activation limits that make sense—one site, several sites, or unlimited sites.

From discovery to renewal

One clear path from visitor to recurring customer

The billing system matters, but it cannot create demand on its own. WPBay puts subscriptions inside a marketplace where WordPress buyers already come to find products.

01

Get discovered

Your product appears in a WordPress-focused marketplace, with its own listing and seller storefront.

02

Reduce the risk

Use a free trial when appropriate so the buyer can experience the product before the first charge.

03

Set the terms clearly

Show the plan, site allowance, amount due today, billing interval, and next charge before checkout.

04

Keep delivering value

Active subscribers continue receiving the updates and support included with their chosen product.

Let WPBay handle the customer transaction

  • Checkout and payment processing
  • Recurring subscription charges
  • Applicable VAT and sales tax
  • Customer invoices
  • Refund administration
  • Chargeback and fraud review

Your business still remains your responsibility. Sellers must report their WPBay earnings and handle the income, company, and other tax obligations that apply in their own jurisdiction.

Built for WordPress products

Keep the purchase, license, and update path connected

Use the WPBay PHP SDK to add license activation, purchase validation, subscription checks, and automatic updates to a plugin or theme. Product plans and activation limits can be handled separately, so an Agency plan does not have to behave like a one-site license.

  • License activation and validation
  • Automatic WordPress updates
  • Plan-specific feature access
  • Configurable site limits
  • REST API for custom integrations
  • Sales and product insights
Less routine support

Give customers control over their own subscription

A customer should not need to email you just to check a renewal or stop the next charge. WPBay keeps the basic subscription controls inside the buyer’s account.

  • View active subscriptions
  • See the billing interval
  • Change an available plan
  • Cancel future renewals
  • Reactivate later
  • Receive renewal invoices

After cancellation: the customer keeps the version already downloaded, but updates and support end unless the subscription is reactivated.

More than billing infrastructure

Sell where WordPress customers can discover you

WPBay combines the tools behind the sale with the marketplace in front of it. Your subscription is attached to a real product page, a seller identity, and ways to earn attention.

Growth should pay

Keep a larger share as your WPBay sales grow

Common questions

What sellers usually want to know

Can I sell both subscriptions and lifetime licenses?

Yes. WPBay supports one-time purchases as well as monthly and yearly subscriptions. You decide which options make sense for each product.

Can I offer a free trial?

Yes. Eligible subscription products can include a free trial. WPBay shows the trial on the product card and product page, and the order summary explains what is due today and when paid billing begins.

Can a customer upgrade or downgrade?

When plan switching is configured for the product, customers can change plans through their account. Upgrades can take effect immediately with a prorated charge, while downgrades normally take effect after the current billing period.

Who handles VAT and customer invoices?

WPBay acts as Merchant of Record for standard marketplace transactions and handles the customer-facing checkout, applicable VAT or sales tax, and customer invoice. You remain responsible for reporting your marketplace earnings and complying with the tax rules that apply to your own business.

Do I have to use the WPBay SDK?

No. A product can be sold without license activation. The SDK is available when you want purchase validation, license activations, subscription-aware access, and automatic updates inside a WordPress plugin or theme.

Can I sell the same product elsewhere?

Yes. WPBay is non-exclusive by default, so you can also sell from your own site, WordPress.org, or another marketplace while following the terms of each platform.

How and when can I withdraw earnings?

You can request a payout from the seller dashboard after your available balance reaches $50. Current payout options include PayPal, Skrill, Payoneer, and Wise.
