Documentation for version 1.1.1 · Author: Daiki Miyamoto · Plugin slug: quick-install-plugin

1. Overview

Quick Install adds a compact plugin management widget to the WordPress Dashboard. It is designed to reduce repeated navigation between the Dashboard, Add Plugins, and Installed Plugins screens.

Typical workflow:
Dashboard → Quick Install → Search, ZIP install/update, or Installed Plugins

2. Requirements

3. Installation

  1. Log in to WordPress.
  2. Go to Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin.
  3. Select the Quick Install plugin ZIP file (technical plugin slug: quick-install-plugin).
  4. Click Install Now.
  5. Activate Quick Install.
  6. Open Dashboard. The Quick Install widget will appear there.

4. Dashboard Sections

Search plugins

Search the WordPress.org plugin directory directly from the Dashboard. You can review search results and install plugins without leaving the page. After installation, activation can also be performed from the same workflow.

Install or update from ZIP

Drop or choose a plugin ZIP file. Quick Install inspects the package before installation or update and shows relevant information, including version details and compatibility requirements.

Always review the displayed plugin information before confirming an overwrite or downgrade.

Installed plugins

Search installed plugins by name, description, or author directly from the Dashboard.

Quick Install does not allow itself to be deactivated from its own widget.

5. Section State

The open or closed state of each Quick Install dashboard section is remembered per WordPress user, so the widget can stay arranged for your preferred workflow.

6. Multilingual Interface

The bundled interface supports:

Translations follow the WordPress admin/user locale.

7. Multisite

Quick Install is designed for individual site dashboards and does not add its widget to the Network Admin dashboard.

When a network-active plugin is updated from a ZIP file through Quick Install, its network-active state is preserved. Network activation itself is not managed from the Quick Install widget.

8. Security and Permissions

Plugin management actions are available only to users with the relevant WordPress capabilities. Quick Install uses WordPress permission checks and nonces for dashboard actions.

For ZIP installations and updates, review the detected plugin name, version, WordPress requirement, and PHP requirement before confirming the action.
